Welcome to The Trail RP!
The Trail Roleplay is an engaging roleplay community. We strive to create an immersive world that captures the spirit of the old west. Our community is comprised of players who love to encourage in-depth character development while staff works to continuously improve features and development.
Server Policies
The Trail RP values realism, story-telling, creativity, and creating an entertaining and safe environment for all within it.
Roleplay is the priority in every scenario. If you cannot stay in-character, take a break. If you encounter issues while in the server such as a rule break, remain in-character until you can end the scene and communicate the issue for resolution, either with the player(s) involved in direct messages or in a Support Ticket.
Roleplay is valued over Ruleplay here. If there is a scene with questionable conduct, do not try to enforce the rules during the scene, do not try to think of a clever way to "rule-splain" using in-game language, that’s still breaking character. Remain in character until it is over and submit a ticket if you have issues with it.
FailRP will not be tolerated, and any instances will be met with corrective actions. See the following rules below for explanations and guidelines.
All rules, policies, enforcement of rules, and disciplinary enforcement are subject to change at the discretion of staff through proper staff processes. Failure to abide by the rules and policies of this community may result in disciplinary action as outlined by the rules. General behavior within the community must abide by the Discord Terms of Service as well.
Community Rules
Treat everyone in the community with respect.
You must be at least 18 years old. There will be no exceptions made.
This is an English-speaking server. Communication is expected to be done primarily in English. If you wish to speak in non-English languages in-game, be mindful of those around you. Mute characters will be accepted by approval via ticket only.
Microphone quality must be good. You must be able to be heard clearly without too much background noise. Failure to maintain good audio quality will result in staff intervention until the issue is resolved. If you require suggestions, ask members within the community.
Voice changers are allowed as long as they do not sound unrealistic or make you hard to hear.
Discord. All community members must maintain their membership in the Discord. Refusal to abide by this rule will result in revoking of allowlisted privileges until resolved with staff.
Names. You must add your character’s name into your username. This will allow staff and community members to find you for ease of communication. Your Discord and IN-GAME name must not be made from special fonts or characters. Do not use “meme” names, be overly comedic such as “Robin Banks”, or use names from real people or characters from other forms of media.
Examples: Uber | Nusupi Jackson, Uber – Nusupi / Lucille
Unacceptable Names: Doc Holiday, Moe Monee, Shay Kitoff
We have no tolerance toward: bullying, harassment, sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, or other forms of hate speech against our community members. You are free to disagree on topics, but you must remain civil and be mature. If you have an issue, make an effort to settle it privately before bringing in staff.
No NSFW or obscene content in our Discord. This includes text, links, videos, or images that feature nudity or graphic imagery.
No spam, solicitation, or self-promotion. This includes invites, advertisements, or promoting other servers without staff approval. Promotion of live-streams or other services such as commissions will be restricted to channels specified in the Discord. This includes direct messaging members of the community without express permission.
Do not DM staff or admins without their permission. Open a ticket if it is a server-related question.
Stream at your own risk. While we respect our streamers, we cannot control what rp you are streaming. If you encounter content that could break Twitch/YouTube et al TOS, remove yourself from the scene.
Do not Fail RP, meta-game, or power-game.
Be a good sport. Take losses with grace, be willing to both give and take in role-play, and do not focus solely on PVP.
Disciplinary Process
Tiers can and will be circumvented depending upon the severity of the rule break. We may also decide to not have players accrue points and only follow the standard tier process depending on staff review
If you receive a warning for an infraction (ie: Being in a discord call), and within a MONTH you commit the same infraction, your warning will retroactively carry the full weight of the rule break, in addition to the current rule break. For a Discord call, this would take it from a Warning, to a Tier 4 and you will receive a 7 day temp-ban.
All rules are playerbase inclusive. You will not be exempt from a rule break just because of your role in the server or any amount of money donated to the community.
1st Tier/Point: A verbal or written warning
2nd Tier/Point: Up to one (1) day removal of allowlisted privileges including a verbal or written warning, possible removal of a whitelisted job.
3rd Tier/Point: Up to a three (3) day removal of allowlisted privileges including a verbal or written warning, possible removal of a whitelisted job.
4th Tier/Point: Up to a seven (7) day removal of allowlisted privileges including a verbal or written warning, possible removal of a whitelisted job.
5th Tier/Point: Permanent ban. - Any time that a player is going to be subject to a ban, all of staff will be consulted before moving on a final action with the player
Tier 1 breaks result in 1 point or warning.
Drops off after 1 month/ 30 days:
Alternate Characters
Posters
Property ownership
Group sizes with no criminal activity involved
Group sizes with criminal activity not involving players outside your group
Ropes
Scenes
Conflict - NPC as hostage, combat storing
Tier 2 breaks result in 2 points.
Drops after 2 months / 60 days:
NVL
Group sizes with criminal activity involving other players
Metagaming
- Being in a discord/other voice chat, or in a stream while in-game
Lack of presence on your criminal character to be able to have action taken on them
Incapacitation and Injury
Power gaming - excluding Supernatural, Mental Illness, bug exploitation, and attempting to force perma
Conflict - Loot boxing/pocket wiping, rob and run, initiating within 30 minutes
Improper initiation of conflict
Tier 3 breaks result in 3 points.
Drops after 3 months/ 90 days:
Mass Murderers (Modern day Spree/Serial Killers) - If you do not seek staff approval for this activity, you are subject to a rule break. Terms and RP will be laid out within the staff approval. If you stray outside of those terms without staff approval, again you are subject to a rule break
RDM
Meta-Gaming
- Actively utilizing IC, any information obtained in any way OOC
Power-gaming - Supernatural, Mental Illness, bug exploitation, and attempting to force perma
Conflict - Combat logging, robbing character in a mechanic
Roleplay over Gunplay:
Beginning Conflict with Headshot/execution/one-tap (in the absence of significant lead-up RP.)
Initiating conflict and not giving the other party/parties an opportunity for defense.
Do not prematurely incapacitate an individual just to end a scene or gain an advantage over the scene.
Meta-Gaming
Meta-gaming is strictly prohibited in this community. Using information or knowledge that your character has not obtained through in-character means is meta-gaming.
This can include, and is not limited to, using information from Discord or any third-party software, Trello, live streams, photos, videos or voice calls.
Watching streams or being on a third-party call (ie. Discord) while on server, even if your character is incapped or imprisoned, is not allowed.
If you are in server, be in the teamspeak and nothing else. If caught being in stream and/or chat (as a viewer) or any other form of communication while in-server, expect disciplinary action.
Power-Gaming
Power-gaming is strictly prohibited in this community. It is the use of in-game mechanics to provide yourself or your group an advantage in order to “win” a scenario or exploit features for personal gain.
Raising your VOIP’s volume to provide yourself or your group an advantage in a situation is considered power-gaming. If you are not actually yelling or speaking loudly IC, do not raise the VOIP volume.
All /me’s must be considered attempts. The receiver of the /me dictates the success of the attempt.
Using a bug, glitch, or a mechanic in order to grind for in-game currency.
A character with a federal warrant may not be deleted or “benched” until the conclusion of that warrant – whether due to being caught or turning themselves in – or death of the character.
This is to avoid outstanding warrants remaining unresolved and conflicts being avoided.
Do not “double-tap” an incapacitated player.
If a player does not agree to a permanent death, do not engage in actions that could force them to permanently kill their character.
Fail RP
Fail RP, or Failure to RP, is the practice of failing to properly roleplay a scenario, whether due to using mechanics to substitute for roleplay, breaking character and remaining OOC, or not abiding by our role play standards.
Examples: baiting law into conflict, refusing to roleplay injuries received in PVP, refusal to roleplay, bleeding OOC to IC and vice versa, etc.
Use of /OOC is acceptable for communicating the following: Inability to utilize a server mechanic that impacts roleplay, obtaining permissions to further a scene, providing a Discord name to communicate via DMs regarding in-depth torture permissions, or communicating that TeamSpeak is not functioning properly.
/OOC must not be used to communicate in any other form or fashion. Disagreement on how a scene has played out, rule break, issues with another player should be taken to a ticket or to the other player in DMs after the scene has concluded
Supernatural RP is not permitted in addition characters are not allowed to have superhuman attributes or be supernatural in any sense of the word.
Value of Life & RDM
You must value your character’s life, the lives of other player characters, and the NPCs. Do not look to incapacitating as a first resort.
Random or Vehicle Death Match is when violence occurs without any roleplay. There must always be roleplay prior to any attempts to initiate violence or ‘down’ a player using weapons, vehicles, animals, lassos and hogtying, or weaponless engagement.
A few words from the initiating party without a response or a two sentence exchange between involved parties is not considered sufficient roleplay. There should be a back and forth of dialogue to properly establish a scene before violence occurs.
Do not purposefully trigger the NPCs to attack you in order to justify violence against them. NPCs are to be treated as if they are real people. You can protect yourself and/or property from NPCs but killing or beating up a NPC for no reason is considered Fail RP, NVL and RDM.
A duel requires the consent of both parties with acknowledgement of the following: if you consent to participating in a duel, you agree that your character will be maimed or permanently die if they are incapped by their opponent.
Record the duel if there is a case of foul-play and you need evidence to support your character’s survival.
The duel MUST be overseen by a local LEO authority to be considered “legal”.
Pacing
Pacing within this community is defined as the speed and rhythm of progressing a story, interaction, or event between characters.
We are a slow-burn server - that means that pacing should be slow to moderate to account for a healthy server balance between interactions.
Guarma: This is a guideline, not a rule. Try to take Pacing into account when considering a trip to Guarma. This would not be a simple undertaking, and should be treated as such. If you make the trip, plan on being there for Multiple IRL days.
Criminal Pacing: All variations of robberies (player/store/bank/train/etc) should have a cooldown of 1 hour in between each robbery. Criminals and or a group of criminals will be allowed up to 3 separate robbery instances, but you must have a 48-hour cooldown of no robberies after reaching those 3, or if you are convicted of a crime, at which time you are refreshed to 3 robberies.
Initiation of Conflict
Conflict should only be initiated after a suitable build-up of roleplay. This may look like a lengthy and tense conversation or an argument that lasts over a minute.
Previously concluded scenarios, even ones that did not result in conflict, while they may be referenced to, is not enough of a reason to approach a character and initiate conflict with very few words.
EXAMPLE: Your character was in an argument with a person or group an hour ago and that argument resulted in verbal or physical conflict. If your character comes across that same group, there should be substantial conversation before engaging in fresh conflict.
Having a gun or weapon drawn but not aimed is not considered initiating conflict.
Fanning the hammer to initiate conflict is not an acceptable form of initiating conflict.
This should only be done after the conflict has begun - do not let hip firing be your “opening shot”.
Retaliation
After a scene of conflict has concluded, and a member from any group involved has been incapcitated, no one from any of the groups involved (Crim/Civ/Law/Otherwise) will be allowed to retaliate or re-engage against each other for 24 hours, nor can they hire, coerce, or otherwise influence any other player or group to do so on their behalf to bypass this cooldown. Any injuries received during said conflict should be taken into account whenever retaliation or re-engagement is being considered.
If the same opposing player or group attempts to start a conflict with the victim or their allies within that time frame, the victim, within reason (remember your injuries), and their allies can defend themselves.
Note: Investigations by Law following such an event are not considered re-engagement or retaliation, though the Law should take into consideration how they are conducting said investigation.
Examples: Robbery, kidnapping, torture, murder, gun fights, and other violent encounters or petty crime.
Kidnappings are considered “ongoing scenarios” until the kidnapped victim has been released or returned. Standard retaliation rules will apply after it has concluded.
Pursuit or search of the kidnapped victim is acceptable.
If a conflict arises, a KIDNAPPED VICTIM must surrender or flee the situation if they have the opportunity to do so - keep NVL in mind.
Reporting crimes to LEOs to action does not count as retaliation.
Whitelisted Jobs
Players may only have two (2) whitelist jobs – one per character.
The following jobs require searching for an apprenticeship or being recruited in-character through telegrams, word of mouth, or arranging meetings with individuals with the job:
LEO, Medical, Blacksmith, Horse Trainer, Gunsmith, Veterinarian, Train Conductor, Judge, Governor, Furniture Maker & Goldsmith.
The following jobs can be obtained via ticket if certain prerequisites are met:
Native Crafter, Native Healer, Bartender (Legal saloons only), Lawyer.
Alternate Characters
Alts may not participate in the same conflicts as your other characters, nor can you join your other characters current or former gang.
If playing a family member or friend of your character, you are not allowed to retaliate on their behalf, share IC information between the two characters, or share items/cash between the characters via storage or other players.
Additionally, properties are not permitted to be handed from one of your characters to another of your characters under any circumstances. This includes wills, if you decide to play the child of your character who you've previously perma'd.
Property Ownership
Properties with HOUSES will be limited to ONE per PLAYER.
Players are limited to ONE Business Property. Business properties are defined as any building with an enterable interior (base, YMAP or MLO) in which one would conduct their trade or business. For example: saloons, tailors, gunsmiths, bakeries/restaurants, banks, etc.
Properties that can be ranched are not considered to be "business property."
Properties are meant for active players. If you are found to be inactive or lack sufficient activity, you could risk losing your property.
Married couples, partners, or larger family groups must consolidate their residential property into ONE location.
Players are limited to 3 horses per character. Horse trainers & horse breeders are allowed an exception of 10 horses total.
Players may have up to 2 wheeled vehicles (wagon, stage coach, buggy, etc.)
Posters
When creating a poster, you must keep them accurate to the time period. Consider that posters wouldn’t have had printed photos on them. They would have generally been limited to Typeset (for text). If images were included, they would mostly have been hand-drawn.
Scenes
Scenes are a valuable asset for roleplay. The intent of leaving a scene is to provide immersion and help develop the RP with small amounts of text in a specific area after a roleplay interaction.
Scenes must be left after committing a crime without player character witnesses.
They must include: evidence of the crime, “witness descriptions” of the character if NPCs are in the area, direction of tracks, and other useful information to allow for counter-play and investigation.
If you interact with a scene, leave a scene to show evidence of interaction.
When you as a player choose to implicate yourself in crimes via scenes, and are caught, those scenes are valid, admissible evidence in your case.
Weapon Limits
Players are limited to the following combinations:
1 long arm and 1 sidearm
1 Gun (sidearm, longarm), 1 bow
2 sidearms
Ropes Policy
Players are not allowed to break out of hogties when their captor(s) is present, carrying them, or has placed them on the back of their horse.
When hogtied, a player is not allowed to break out of the ropes except for the following:
The player’s captor(s) are beyond shouting range.
The captor has left the player alone for an extended period of time or has become distracted with another event, allowing a realistic opportunity of escape.
The captor instructs the player to do so via RP or through OOC instruction.
Incapacitation & Injury RP
Players may choose their injuries but must roleplay their injuries and subsequent recovery by what others may have been able to observe (excluding headshots).
Example: Your character model is incapacitated in a shootout and the player chooses severe injuries during medical RP. They are expected to roleplay the recovery properly or risk allegations of fail RP and lack of proper medical RP.
Example 2: Your character is incapacitated by a bug that caused your horse to kick them in the middle of nowhere. You will have more liberties to determine if you wish to roleplay the effects or not because it was not observed by other players.
Note: The method in which the injury was inflicted should be taken into consideration when choosing your injuries. This means that choosing to walk away with “just a graze” may not be acceptable. In the same thought, this does not mean you must always choose the most severe injury possible. Find a happy middle ground.
Recovery times should be realistic. Injuries must also be taken into consideration for all IC activities. Consult the Guide to Injury RP in #TTRP-Official-Guides or click this LINK.
Repeated injuries must be taken into consideration. Do not abuse medical items or the doctor NPCs to circumvent injury roleplay.
Torture requires consent from the victim, either through DMs or /OOC commands.
If you are incapacitated, you cannot rejoin the conflict at all or go back to that area for one (1) hour if removed from the scene.
Do not use “respawn at doctor” if a PVP scenario or conflict is still ongoing or there are players around after a scene ends.
When characters are incapacitated, players have several options depending on the circumstances surrounding their injury:
Downed - The character is injured and on the ground, but they can still communicate vocally. Players can choose to have their characters have a complete or partial memory of everything that occurred to them when “downed”.
Unconscious - The character is unconscious and can only communicate via /me to provide medical information to those tending to them. There is no memory of what happened while unconscious.
Dead - The character has used a /me to indicate “No pulse” or the equivalent. There is no resuscitation at this point. This cannot be used in a joking manner. If it is done, the character is dead. Any abuse or misuse of this will be punishable.
Players are not allowed to force a character to go unconscious, regain their consciousness, obtain additional injury, or die. Injuries and deaths are the sole choice of the victim.
You cannot take a player that you have downed to the Doctor or wait for them to get back up in order to incapacitate them again after respawn. Leave them alone and remove yourself from the scene.
Mental illness must be portrayed respectfully and accurately.
Group Sizes
All groups (tribes, civilian, criminal, etc.) will not have a maximum cap of their official roster (number of members), HOWEVER:
Only 12 online members of a group may participate in activities at a time, regardless of the amount of online members
The group of 12 online members may NOT split up to commit crimes throughout the map
Groups are NOT allowed to claim multiple areas of the map - There must only be one base of operations (hideout, tribal land, etc.)
Groups (criminal and non-criminal) are allowed a maximum of 4 players that can participate in any conflict outside of owned properties or hideouts.
All others must flee the scene and wait until the conflict is over before picking up wounded.
Those that remain cannot go in as a “second-wave” or engage with those outside of the 4.
Violent conflicts with groups larger than 4 in either party require staff approval. If it is discovered that a mass conflict occurred without staff approval, all parties will face disciplinary action.
Example: Law vs Gang final stand off with 4+ members on each side.
Homestead Act: Players are allowed to protect their owned properties (home and business) or claimed hideouts in a party larger than 4.
If you want to claim a hideout for your group, notify the staff team via a ticket of the location and who is claiming it.
If a posse and or group (criminal, law, or civilian) is actively engaged in a scenario with another group, you are not allowed to join if it breaks the rule of 4 for either side. This includes but is not limited to:
Active searches & pursuits
Shootouts & Fights
Note: If a 4-member group loses a member while engaged in combat, they are not able to rotate in new person(s)
Equal Force: Law characters may only engage in a maximum number of 4 if responding to any given situation outside of a town, unless they have received staff approval to respond in greater force.
Only one person in a group may be designated as a sniper for any PVP scenario.
Opposing groups must be made aware of the sniper's presence.
The sniper must not engage until proper initiation is done by the players directly involved with a conversation with the opposing group, either due to a designated gesture, spoken word if they are in distance of voice range, or after the others begin shooting.
Conflict & Criminal RP
Crime or violent interactions must not be initiated within 30 minutes of a server restart, before or after.
If you have a pre-existing scene before this time frame, continue as normal.
Criminal Pacing: All variations of robberies should have a cooldown of 1 hour in between each robbery. Criminals will be allowed up to 3 separate robbery instances, but you must have a 48-hour cooldown of no robberies, or if you are convicted of a crime, at which time you are refreshed to 3 robberies.
Burning down a player-owned/squatted property, business, or camp requires the consent of the player.
Combat storing is not allowed. This is storing cash/items/etc on your horse or mobile vehicle while you are in an active role-play situation or while someone is attempting to start one.
Combat logging is not allowed. This is logging out of the server deliberately to avoid a certain roleplay senario and will not be permitted. Switching characters to avoid roleplay is seen as FailRP.
Loot Boxing/Pocket Wiping is not allowed. This is the removal of all or the majority of a character's inventory, including stacks of items. Don’t take 31 of 32 (or whatever stacksize) even if this is the only item you take. Please think of what your character could reasonably carry.
When robbing, if it is not visibly equipped on their player model, or it is not something you would normally find in someone’s pocket, or they have not otherwise notified you of it verbally or via a /me, then it doesn’t exist.
Do not rob and run. Make sure to give victims roleplay throughout the robbery.
It is not permitted to rob characters while they are engaged in mechanics. This includes, but is not limited to:
Checking/writing telegrams, accessing store menus, seated card games, etc.
NPCs may not be used as hostages.
Please respect crime pacing. Do not rob banks or stores multiple times a week. Players or gangs must take time to play out robberies and have a reasonable amount of time between each one they do. Don't forget to leave a scene if no player witnesses or law present.
Players in a "chain gang" must have a status to reflect being chained to the line. The only way to break from that is via manual release or thoroughly roleplaying breaking the chain.
Important note regarding ALLIANCES:
Conflict with another group should only be in response to your own conflict and not one initiated by someone else.
Allied groups should not be used to strong-arm or power-game conflicts between two parties. "Super-grouping" in order to always win conflicts is not fun for anyone but the victor.
If your group is already capable of having the max amount of participants in a conflict scenario, reconsider reaching out to bolster your group's numbers.
If you do not have the numbers to contend with the opposing group, then look into reaching out to guns-for-hire, friends, or allies to meet that cap.
Prison Breaks
Prisoners are not allowed to escape by themselves and must have outside help. Attempting to do so without help, will be considered FailRP and power-gaming.
There must be at least four (4) LEO online to do a prison break.
Open a ticket to inquire if there are enough law present to do a prison break.
Prisoners have one chance at escape. If they fail, they remain in prison with potentially additional time tacked on due to the attempted escape.
Lifers are allowed multiple attempts. This is subject to change dependent on pacing and conduct.
If the entire party is incapacitated, they cannot “respawn at the doctor” and must wait to be picked up by law and/or medical.
If no LEO arrives after fifteen minutes of the entire group being incapacitated, then the prisoner must inform the law within the Jail ticket that the group has been “taken in” for holding. LEOs will then meet with them to begin formal processing and procedure when available.
Prisoners cannot directly request to be broken out. Guards will monitor the telegrams.
The telegrams should be worded to imply a prison break is requested. “I sure do wish I could get out of here” is insufficient.
Group number, including the prisoner, must not exceed 4.
The group must have a boat.
Players are not allowed to participate in another prison break for two weeks.
Players must remain online for 45 minutes after the jailbreak.
Once broken out, the prisoner will immediately receive a federal warrant and bounty.
IMPORTANT: Due to the heinous nature of the crime, this is an intense and dangerous event for law and criminals involved. The criminals will be provided with at least one warning before law begins shooting, depending on the RP provided.
Zero Tolerance Policy
These are roleplay scenarios that are not allowed to be actively played out on the server.
Pregnancy or Miscarriages
Suicide or Self-harm
Sexual Assault, Sexual Harrasment, or Rape
Torture without consent
Infanticide
Slavery
Incest
Bestiality
Urinating and/or defecating on another character
Pandemic Disease Roleplay This includes any disease that can be spread through little to no contact, such as Tuberculosis (TB,) virulent strains of influenza such as the Spanish Flu, Smallpox, and any other disease or affliction (such as syphilis) that was likely to be fatal in the current time period. Antibiotics were not available at that time. If you would like to permanently kill your character to a medical condition, there are plenty of other options.
FAQs
How Do I Apply?
Once you have joined the Discord, look for the channel labeled apply-here. Type the command /apply in the channel and the bot will message you automatically to begin the application.
Has My Application Been Received?
If you have received the confirmation from the bot, the staff has received your application for processing.
How Long Does the Application Process Take?
The application process is dependant on the number of current applications, staff availability and several other factors. We try and process as quickly as possible.
Generally, an application can take up to a week, but it’s possible to go longer dpending. Please do not message staff to try and get your application processed faster. Doing so could result in an application denial.
Why Was My Application Denied?
This could be due to a number of reasons including but not limited to:
Incomplete responses to questions, or a lack of detail to scenario questions.
Did not read server rules that are located on our website.
Responses to questions that do not align with The Trail RP’s roleplay standards.
Can I Play on XBox or PS4?
No, the main modification framework is for the PC version of RedM. The server and processes are being developed exclusively for PC.
Is TTRP Controller Friendly?

Is This Like Red Dead Online?
No. Although RedM is very similar to RDO in concept, this is a roleplaying community first and foremost.
Does TTRP Support Ultra-Wide Monitors?
Sort-of. Some UI features may look odd on ultra-wide monitors, but we have done our best to accomodate.
What VOIP Does TTRP Use?
We use the SaltyChat plugin for Teamspeak.
Does TTRP Allow Text RP?
The server is primarily voice only RP. We do provide in-game emotes, animations and the /me command. If you are planning on playing a mute character, please submit a ticket for admin approval.
Does TTRP Offer Character Housing?
Yes! Housing offers another layer of roleplay and ownership for our community members that makes the world feel a bit more alive as well as make that player’s roleplay feel that much more valuable.
We offer over 30 housing options and have plans to add even more in the future. Taxes are automatically deducted once a month on 1st. This ensures that active players within the community hold property. Some properties also have established ranches you can run!

Server Lore
History -
On our server, the history of the United States of America and Red Dead Redemption will stay mostly intact save a few changes.
All players, regardless of gender, race and or religious disposition, hold equal rights.
While we’re acknowledging the American Civil War did happen, any outstanding biases and or quarrels should be pointed toward the government and not a specific race of people.
No person(s) or race(s) are are forcefully confined to specific areas of the map i.e. reservations.
Setting -
The world of The Trail spans five fictitious American counties within the state of Sequoia: New Hanover, Ambarino, Lemoyne, New Austin, and West Elizabeth. They are centered on the San Luis and Lannahechee Rivers and the shores of Flat Iron Lake.
Ambarino is a mountain wilderness, with the largest settlement being the Wapiti Native American settlement.
New Hanover encompasses a sweeping valley and woody foothills that feature the cattle town of Valentine, the riverside Van Horn Trading Post, and the coal town of Annesburg.
Lemoyne is composed of bayous and plantations resembling the southeastern United States and is home to the Southern town of Rhodes, the village of Lagras, and the former French colony of Saint Denis, analogous to New Orleans.
West Elizabeth consists of wide plains, dense forests, and the prosperous port town of Blackwater. In addition, West Elizabeth is also home to the mountain resort town of Strawberry.
New Austin is an arid desert region on the border with Mexico and centered on the frontier towns of Armadillo and Tumbleweed.
Timeline -
The Trail is set in the year 1899 during the Rise of Industrial America. Below is a high level timeline of events that have shaped the landscape of our world.
Colonial Settlement 1600s – 1763
The American Revolution 1763 – 1783
The New Nation 1783 – 1815
National Expansion and Reform 1815 – 1880
Civil War and Reconstruction 1861 – 1877
Rise of Industrial America 1877 – 1900
